Buddy Davis brings 45 years of fishing and Boat Building background to the New Buddy Davis Edition Boats.  Beginning in 1962 Buddy began an apprenticeship as a mate fishing out of Oregon Inlet and Hatteras, North Carolina.  By 1968 Buddy was a 19-year-old Captain.  In 1970 he began building Oregon Inlet Charter boats during the winter, "off season" a profession that evolved in 1973 to building the first Buddy Davis Boats while continuing to fish spring and summers as an Oregon Inlet Captain.

In 1980 Buddy concentrated his effort to full time Boat Building in his Wanchese, NC Boat shops, the profession he continues today.  A young 60 year old, the challenge of growing the Buddy Davis Edition Boat Company and working with the Egg Harbor Group to design and build the larger 40' - 70' Davis Yachts Sportfisherman has reincarnated Buddy's love for Boat Building.  The new Egg Harbor Group is passionate in their quest to meet the challenges of today, and tomorrows Boat Builders.  Buddy Davis retains his obsession for all aspects of Boat Building, and is proud to be a "Carolina / Jersey" boat Builder and part of the Egg Harbor Heritage.
